Principle
Thermosiphon Solar Water Heaters work following the principle of warm water rising, a phenomenon known as Natural Convection, to circulate water through the collectors and to the tank. In this type of installation, the tank must be located above the collector. As water in the collector heats, it becomes lighter and naturally rises into the tank above. Meanwhile, cooler water in the tank flows downwards into the collector, thus causing circulation throughout the system. These systems are reliable and relatively inexpensive.
Models
We offer 3 different styles to accommodate different seasonal requirements:
1) Basic Cottage: Most simple design, used where hot water can be supplied by gravity or small electric/manual pump.
2) Seasonal Cottage: Similar to basic cottage, with addition of an internal copper coil pipe within the tank. Allows higher pressure water flow, and the ability to add glycol to the system for colder temperatures.
3) All-year Cottage/Farm: Adds copper heat pipes inside tubes, suitable for good heat production in even lower outdoor temperatures than Seasonal Cottage models (withstands -55 degrees C).
Pricing:
Basic Cottage:
SHW1-60st (60L tank) - $466.90
SHW1-120st (120L tank) - $834.90
Seasonal Cottage:
